Charles Paris is an actor who has known success, failure and long periods of ‘resting’ during his 30-year career. But recently Charles has discovered a previously hidden talent – that of amateur sleuth. Away from the spotlight, Charles is most likely to be found in the nearest pub with his battered evidence notebook and a large glass of Bells which he’s convinced makes him think more clearly…

For this series of detective stories, I wanted to showcase what made this series of books so popular, by combining the two playgrounds of Charles Paris - the stage and the crime scene. Both feel staged and choreographed in the same way, so I wanted to combine elements like evidence markers and stage markings, chalk outlines and harsh spotlights and litter the stage with a few nods to the character and the cases featured in season one.
